The 7-Day Lemosho Route is one of the most scenic and popular ways to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Starting from the quiet western side, it offers beautiful landscapes and a well-paced itinerary for proper acclimatization.
The route passes through rainforest, moorland, and the iconic Barranco Wall before joining the Machame Route toward the summit. While it can be done in 7 or 8 days, the 7-day option is ideal for fit climbers seeking a shorter yet rewarding adventure.

La Macarena National Park ‘Serranía de la Macarena’ encompasses the ecologically unique meeting point for the flora and fauna of the Amazon, Orinoco and Andes regions.
On this 4 day Amazon jungle experience you will get to see the best this exotic jungle has to offer. From sightseeing to canoeing, to hiking in remote areas, you are sure to leave here with a new understanding of the jungle. If you are short on time this adventure can also be shortened to 3 days, but 4 days is recommended to truly appreciate the beauty and diversity.

The Machame Route, often called the “Whiskey Route”, is one of the most visually rewarding trails on Kilimanjaro. It guides trekkers through lush rainforest landscapes before ascending toward the dramatic Barranco Wall. The 7-day Machame Route features an excellent altitude progression, promoting effective acclimatization by allowing climbers to reach higher elevations during the day while resting at lower altitudes overnight.
This route can be tackled in either 6 or 7 days; however, we strongly favor the 7-day Machame Route itinerary. The extra day significantly enhances acclimatization and increases comfort at altitude. Although longer routes can also support gradual adaptation, the 7-day Machame Route stands out for offering the most balanced and effective altitude profile among all 7-day options, making it a top choice for maximizing summit success.

The Lemosho route is very scenic as you pass through the western part of Kilimanjaro, a captivating local farm area. You pass through forest vegetation toward the park’s gate. The route is an unspoiled and beautiful way up to the Shira Plateau while climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.
The route is longer than others, allowing climbers to acclimatize properly to the altitude. This extra time will aid in summiting and let you marvel at the surroundings a little longer. It is also among the most scenic routes that do not call for midnight summits. Daytime summits are preferred by most climbers who avoid the crowd at the summit.
