The Lemosho route is very scenic as you pass through the western part of Kilimanjaro, a captivating local farm area. You pass through forest vegetation toward the park’s gate. The route is an unspoiled and beautiful way up to the Shira Plateau while climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.
The route is longer than others, allowing climbers to acclimatize properly to the altitude. This extra time will aid in summiting and let you marvel at the surroundings a little longer. It is also among the most scenic routes that do not call for midnight summits. Daytime summits are preferred by most climbers who avoid the crowd at the summit.

he Marangu Route, known as the “Coca-Cola Route,” is one of the most popular ways to climb Kilimanjaro. Over five days, it takes you through lush rainforest and moorland, gradually rising to the higher alpine zones. Trekkers spend nights in cozy huts along the trail, making the journey more comfortable.
Although the route is often done in six days for better acclimatization, the 5-day plan is a good option for those with limited time. It still allows a steady pace to help your body adjust to the altitude, giving you a realistic and achievable path to the summit without rushing.

The 6-day Machame Route, known as the “Whiskey Route,” is one of the most scenic ways to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. The journey begins in the rich rainforest, where tall trees and misty trails set the tone for the adventure. As you climb higher, the landscape changes dramatically, leading you across moorland and alpine desert, and up the famous Barranco Wall before heading toward the summit.
On the 6-day Machame itinerary, the pace is steady but slightly faster than the 7-day option. You still follow the “climb high, sleep low” principle, which helps your body adjust to the altitude, though with one less day for acclimatization. It is a great choice for fit and experienced trekkers who are comfortable with a shorter schedule and ready for a rewarding challenge.
This route remains a favorite for many climbers thanks to its beautiful scenery, varied terrain, and strong summit success rate when well prepared. With the right mindset, proper guidance, and good fitness, the 6-day Machame Route offers an unforgettable Kilimanjaro experience.

The 7-Day Lemosho Route is one of the most scenic and popular ways to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Starting from the quiet western side, it offers beautiful landscapes and a well-paced itinerary for proper acclimatization.
The route passes through rainforest, moorland, and the iconic Barranco Wall before joining the Machame Route toward the summit. While it can be done in 7 or 8 days, the 7-day option is ideal for fit climbers seeking a shorter yet rewarding adventure.

The Marangu Route, often called the “Coca-Cola Route,” is one of the most popular ways to climb Kilimanjaro. It takes trekkers through beautiful rainforest and moorland landscapes before reaching the higher alpine zones. The 6-day itinerary offers a good pace, helping climbers gradually adjust to higher altitudes while spending nights in comfortable huts along the trail.
While the route can be done in 5 or 6 days, we recommend the 6-day plan. It provides enough time for proper acclimatization and allows trekkers to climb at a steady, manageable pace. This balance makes the Marangu Route a favorite for those looking for a comfortable and achievable path to the summit.

The Machame Route, often called the “Whiskey Route”, is one of the most visually rewarding trails on Kilimanjaro. It guides trekkers through lush rainforest landscapes before ascending toward the dramatic Barranco Wall. The 7-day Machame Route features an excellent altitude progression, promoting effective acclimatization by allowing climbers to reach higher elevations during the day while resting at lower altitudes overnight.
This route can be tackled in either 6 or 7 days; however, we strongly favor the 7-day Machame Route itinerary. The extra day significantly enhances acclimatization and increases comfort at altitude. Although longer routes can also support gradual adaptation, the 7-day Machame Route stands out for offering the most balanced and effective altitude profile among all 7-day options, making it a top choice for maximizing summit success.
