Arusha is a large, sprawling city which offers a nice break from the rigours of life on the African road, it has excellent place to stay and eat, it is lush green and enjoys a temperate climate throughout the year. It has Tanzania’s smallest National park but the most beautiful and topographically varied northern circuit park.
Arusha National park is dominated by Mount Meru, an almost perfect cone with a spectacular crater and Ngurdoto Crater with its swamp filled floor. Wildlife is present, but for most of the part it is a sideshow to the scenery.
Arusha National park offer wildlife drives, it has small patch of open grassland that always has zebras and other plain animals.
The parks altitude, which varies from 1400m to more than 4500m, has a variety of vegetation zones but most of the park is forested and the dense vegetation reduces visibility. Animal life is also far less abundant than in other northern Tanzania parks.
You can be able to sight zebras, giraffes, waterbucks, bushbucks, buffaloes, hippos and dik-diks. There are also elephants, leopards and red duikers. There are no Lions and Rhinos due to poaching.
Birdlife here is abundant with around 400 species recorded in the park. Raptors are common at high altitude. Momella Lake attracts variety of water birds including year round flamingos.
You will take early morning breakfast then drive to Arusha National Park for game drive. its about a one and a half hour drive from Moshi town to Arusha National Park a half hour from Arusha City to Arusha National Park. The park has a vast of attractions within it which include the Wildlife animals such as Buffalo, Elephant, Warthog, Zebra, and White/Black colubus monkey and also plant species, mount meru, momela lakes which are sites for Flamingo, various water streams running within the Park and Ngurdoto crater. The activities will take about 10 hours from 0800 hours in the morning to 1700 hours in the evening We`ll drive you back at the Hotel to Arusha/Moshi in the cool of the evening .
